𒁲 fellow traveler,
𝔐y name’s Victoria. Most folks who know me call me “Vicki”.
Among many other things, I’m an avid reader and a writer, as well as a persistently dogmatic advocate for more profound understanding and deeper insight — qualities that are unabashedly reflected in the body of work ongoingly cultivated here.
From a young age, I found myself thoroughly enchanted by language and writing, and their myriad peripheral domains. Such things felt akin to cognitive, relational magic — like nascent forms of telepathy, unbound by time (at least in the ways in which we overwhelmingly tend to perceive it).
In the springtime of my life, my affinity for language developed into a personal methodology for meaningfully grappling with thoughts and feelings through limitless realms of allegory and imagination. It provided a refuge for aspects of myself that longed for expression, in ways where it became both a haven and a tool. In the immutable tangibility of the written word, I discovered escape, comprehension, and solace — a means to solidify and reflect upon the things I yearned to better understand or preserve.
These are phenomena we often take for granted on account of their ubiquity in our lives. The translation of thoughts, feelings, and ideas from one mind into communal symbols, sounds, or expressions which then convey those things for digestion through the lenses of others’ perceptions.
I used to naïvely anticipate that I’d reach some pinnacle of skill or talent by my mid-20s, as if it were some kind of destination one could arrive at and remain. Now, as I approach what’s commonly regarded as middle age, I understand such considerations are something more like a journey without a destination. I suspect I’ll be evolving as a writer until the moment I craft the very last thing I’ll have ever created.
I’ll spare any further introductory clichés and suggest that if you care to know more about me or are simply seeking food for thought or entertainment that you take a further look around. Should anything strike you as resonant, or if you otherwise feel so compelled, I welcome your correspondence.
